Personal Project: Ordinary / Cup Noodles

PROJECT TYPE : Personal Photo Project

FOCUS : Food Styling & Photography

What started as a study in simplicity quickly turned into a full-on science experiment. With my son Silas as my assistant, we tested different ways to capture the perfect steam shot—learning that surface area matters more than volume when it comes to visible steam. A simple subject turned into a creative challenge, proving that sometimes, the ordinary isn’t so ordinary after all.

About my personal photo project:

This series was part of a personal challenge to expand my food and product photography portfolio. For each session, I chose a theme and explored how to translate it by playing with composition, light, and storytelling. As a creative exercise, rather than a commissioned project, it gave me the freedom to experiment and refine my approach.
